The National Button Society (NBS) is a non-profit organization committed to celebrating buttons since 1938. Our efforts led to button collecting’s recognition as an organized hobby.

For a standard membership of just $35 annually, you too can become a proud member of a society that celebrates our important heritage and history.

Our Values and Mission

The NBS has around 3000 members, and all are devoted to the preservation and study of clothing buttons. Our principal objectives include:

New collectors are always guaranteed to find veteran collectors within a reasonable travel distance.

NBS membership spans four continents and 39 of the 50 states represented by state and local button clubs. Some states have multiple button clubs. In addition, several states on the East and West coasts have combined into regional associations to promote educational activities and annual show events.

You can also reach out to members anywhere with ButtonBytes, our online button club. New and novice collectors can meet experienced collectors instantaneously who are always ready to answer questions.
